I have played pool for well over 10 years, however I have just taken up snooker and I am having lessons. The point is after 3 or so months of lessons (I had to take a months break) I am still struggling to make even the simplest of shots. I just can't seem to get my potting angles and aiming spots right. Is there a possibility I am just not ever going to play good snooker?
I take my stance, I line up the shot, I feather, I follow through (though often with way too much pace) and (try) to stay down on the shot, however I seem to be constantly missing thick OR thin. Even if I get close to potting the balls rattle on the cushion and get thrown out again.
I have a practice routine playing a 3/4 ball shot off the black spot, then potting a red from a line up, then black etc, but I have never exceeded one black and a red before I have had to start over. I just cannot seem to get to grips with the potting angles and where to aim for what shot.
I can play pool so well and its maddening.
