Hertford/Hertfordshire new player

Hi

i am new to playing snooker seriously, played a bit socially but really not very often. Now I can’t play other sports that often I am going to get into snooker. Planning on joining a club this week, so if anyone has any recommendations in this area that would be great as I am not 100% set on any one club yet. I am female so any recommendations for female friendly clubs would be even better

Hello - if you are starting out, it may be a better idea to join a social club with snooker tables rather than a snooker club. You generally get a friendlier welcome in these places so it worth visiting a few and seeing which has the better tables and general best feel to it. All tables in these clubs will be old but if they look after them and renew cloths etc once a year they will be decent to learn on.

There is a good snooker club in Harlow called JP's but may be a bit hardcore if you're just getting going. All the best.
