  • Thanks for letting me join the forum

    Hi everyone.
    Thankyou for letting me join.
I have played snooker since 1978 (45Yrs) Played in a league until about 20yrs ago. Four of us still meet up most Friday's & whenever there is a n incident I often get asked if I know the rule.
Last night I was asked about an incident in the recent televised game where the white was touching two reds & when he played his shot the ref called a foul. I have not found the game in question to look at it but would be grateful if you point me to the game in question & why a foul was called as no reason was given by the commentators apparently. Thanks in advance

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I think the match you're talking about was a John Higgins match but I can't remember which one, I just happened to catch that incident in passing. I'm sure somebody else will be able to help you out, bit quiet on here at the moment, Christmas and everything. anyway hope you enjoy the forum and have a nice Christmas.

Thanks for the welcome. I saw the headlines on Eurosport on my phone but it would not let me upload it. Now I know it was John Higgins I might be able to find it. Happy Christmas & a Happy New Year to you.

Thanks. I'm not 100% sure it was Higgins but I think so, seem to remember him tucked up close to two reds and the ref calling a foul after his shot, as I say I wasn't really paying attention just caught it in passing. Hope I haven't given you a red herring for Christmas.

IIRC it was quite recently so probably Scottish Open. If it was touching two reds it may have been very difficult, maybe impossible, to play away. John would have to try his best but if one of the reds moved it would be a foul.

Welcome to the Forum. Take it that you are a Leeds United fan? I'm an Arsenal fan. Sorry, going off topic, went to watch Arsenal v Leeds United, at Highbury, in December 1994. I was sat in the Clock End, next to the Leeds away contingent. Arsenal lost 3 - 1, Leeds were 3 - 0 up.
