  • New to the game!

    Hi All!

Just started getting into Snooker and had a cue handed down to me from my grandad and was just wondering if anyone had any info on it as can’t find much on google?

    Thanks in advance!

      Hi welcome

vBulletin attachment function is notoriously difficult and hard to manage; easier to use other methods such as illustrated below:

How to add images to your TSF posts
You can use a free image-sharing site such as ImgBB, without registering (you can register for free), to upload your images, you may have to do the “not a robot” checks quickly. There are other image sharing sites as well.
      ImgBB.com
      Click on "Start Uploading".
Browse to the file and select it, click Open.
Auto delete image - leave as "Don't autodelete".
      Click "Upload".

Change "Embed Codes" to "BBCode full linked".

Hover mouse over the code in the box, a "COPY" will appear, click this.
Go to your TSF post and paste.
You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.

      Cheers

I would think your cue would be reasonable enough to play with. Maybe needs a bit of TLC.
Couple more photos would be nice eg tip end, splices.

I was told roughly 40 years old so those dates would add up! Few more pictures attached. Would have been purchased somewhere around Northfield/Selly Oak in Birmingham. Other than that I don’t really have any info on it!

Please don't stand it tip end down, or leave it leaning at an angle against the wall, store it flat if you can.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Old wives tale mate, just store it away from any sources of heat and humidity or cold and damp to stop it losing or absorbing moisture as it's this that causes a cue to warp, especially an old one that's lost its cured finish.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

1990’s I think. Thought I had the 1980’s brochure but seem to have lost it.

I had an earlier brochure. May have got a copy from Dom D. IIRC correctly it had Hendry's Conny in it.

I genuinely didn't know that, I still wouldn't stand it tip side down, it just looks wrong, but that's some good info Vmax, very interesting, cheers.

You definitely need to point three or four of these with cue tip down in the earth to secure a firm footing before tying the butts together with twine, for a good sturdy tomato plant teepee style cage.....

I learnt this from Alex Higgins.
