  • Mid 30s, just started playing, better late than never right!

Hey all, thought I'd say hi as I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now.

I've been playing pool casually for a couple of decades, like once every month or two, or 3 or 4.... Naturally, I was not very good so I wanted to get better in order to get an edge on my mates.

Another mate has been having a hard time of late, and I know he plays some snooker so I suggested we play together.

We have been 4 or 5 times now for 2 or 3 hours a time. First 2 or 3 times were a real struggle, barley potted a single colour. In second to last game I got a 16 break (red black red black) and actually won a frame lol.

Last game I got a 20 break (cant remember the colours but was 6 balls in a row) and I felt like a pro lol.

Now I don't really care too much about drunk pool now and I'm just looking forward to sober snooker!

Welcome! As long as you're enjoying it, it's not too late. it certainly takes more concentration on your cueing to pot well on a snooker table, sounds like you're doing pretty good. 👍

I started at age 27 after ten years of UK 8 ball, got to be a 50 breaker in three months and still trying to improve 40 years later so good luck.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair
