Hi all...just recently signed on for this forum and have to say what a fantastic forum it is. I have read many pages on various articles and everyone is fantastic in trying to help their fellow forum members. As this is my first post I have a quick question to ask and I apologize if it is in the wrong spot. I will learn as I go along.. i have been trying to view attachments in the Trevor White Cues Photo Collection but all I see is an Empty box...have these pictures been removed or is there something I have missed.. I am signed in by the way when I try to view these. If any one can help me out please get back to me at your convenience. As I said before ...gr8 forum and many more hours of reading. I am looking forward to discussing snooker with many of the knowledgeable people here.

We're lucky to have a number of very good snooker halls in Toronto... doogystylen's OBSA List is a good reference.
My local club, Annex Billiards, is a spot to find a game to suit players of almost any skill level.
Good people. Committed players. Good tables. Cheapest rates in town too.
Mar. 21st + 22nd at The Annex is the next round of Qualifiers for the Canadian Championships if you're interested...
Also, I'd be happy to hookup for a game sometime if you like mate.

Fr8liner, welcome to the forum. I have been here for a couple of weeks and must say that as far as snooker forums go it is the best and the members are A1. Sudbury, home of the Snow Tournament. Is it not the longest running tournament in Ontario? I am another 4 or so hours north of you, home of the Polar Bears. With a name like that, you must be into trucking?

Hi Mike...you are almost right..i have been told its canada,s longest running tournament. We just had our 41st one a month or so ago... If any one here could confirm this that would be great. This tournament originaly started as a challenge between NorthBay and Sudbury. Cliff Thorburn, Kirk Stevens and Bob Chaperone are a few of the Earlier winners.
Thanks for the welcome and yep...I do drive truck...just locally here though.

I thought I had heard Canada but wasn’t positive, so I stuck to Ontario. At one point a good number of players travelled from the Toronto area to participate. I believe some of the forgotten names are Paul Thornly, Harri Chaggaris, Steve Bosiak, to name a few. I would think that Thornly’s name should be somewhere on the cup(if there is one). At one point he was also the Canadian champion. Was the tournament not started by Gabe Torini(sp?) who owned the pool hall down by the old train station. I think it was called Gateway Billiards.
Where do you play out of in Sudbury? Are there many places left with snooker tables?
Again welcome to the group, I sure you will enjoy it.

Hi Mike....yes there still is a cup and I do beleive Paul has won the tournament. we do get quite a few players from Toronto. Flloyd Ziegler has won it a few times and also Lester Mianskum has won it...Our best local player has to be Fern Loyer who has competed in quite alot of Tournaments. Also Bob Chaperone still plays some tournaments down where you are..Im not sure if Gabe Torini started the tournament or not but he did play in it and did own the Pool Hall in Northbay. We have a league here that runs on Mon and Thurs nights with about 70- 80 full time players. Its handicapped to give us weaker players a more fun evening. Is been going strong now for over 20 years and we currently play at Plaza Bowl. The eight tables are a little ruff but fun is had by all. Everyone jokes about Lotto 649 and how if one of us won we would start a new pool hall here in sudbury. Its been a pleasure talking to you and Ill enjoy my visit here daily. Talk to again soon.........Fr8
