  • My Intro

    Hi.,
Just joined this forum but some may know me from other snooker forums.

I am a bit of a snooker historian and statistician and have a website containing comprehensive historical information including tournament histories and results of just about every major snooker final there has been.

    Try visiting

I am happy to try to answer any question you may have on facts and figures.

I have followed the game for well over 40 years

Hi Chris, welcome..... I might just delete one of the less useful URL's in the list I started http://www.thesnookerforum.com/showthread-t_892.html, I like your Tournament Index & This week in years gone..... Jimmy coming back from 4-12 down against Davis was good to re-live.

Well I do get about 50 hits a day now so it is becoming quite a popular site. I have tried not to duplicate what can be found elsewhere.

It's really useful, especially in the max break section. I've never seen so detailed information about the 147 breaks in the modern history. Thanks!

You have a great collection. Its great I never knew a professional Snooker tournament was ever held in India.

Could you please tell me who were the Indian players apart from Geet Sethi who played professional snooker?(Also never knew he played professional snooker , read it on your site).

You forgot to mention Jamie Burnett's 148???

There have been several Indian players on the ranking tour down the years:

The first was O B Agrawal who played for just one season in 1985/6.
                The others were:-
                Amrik Cheema - 1991/2 to 1997/8 (7 seasons)
                Geet Sethi - 1991/2 to 1994/5 (4 seasons)

Jamie's 148 was not a maximum! He of course potted an extra red as a free ball. In this case the maximum possible would have been 155 if he had taken blacks with every 'red'.

It is perhaps worth mentioning as a footnote and I may do this. He is not the only player to have made a 148 but I think it is the only one in professional competition.

Thats just great. I never even heard some of the names you mentioned there. When Manan Chandra played in the pro's wht was his best rank. I have seen him play he has got great long pot ability.

Sorry for so many replies. I just keep remembering questions to ask you. Did any of the Indian players win a title while in the professionals? Did anybody upset any good players there? I only know that Manan Chandra won 5-3 or 5-2 once. Dont even remember what tournament it was.

It is just that there did not seem to be an appropriate place for it but I have now added a note below the list of maximums.

I intent to add another page soon for various snooker records and it will have a place there as the highest ever break in professional competition.
