What is a thread and how long does it last.
Is it basically a comment that others can respond to?
Is anyone allowed to post a thread?

    So basically it is:
    1. TSF.COM
    2. The 'forums' (subjects) on the home page.
    3. When you go into one of those, you get a list of 'threads' that are like 'sub topics'?
    4. Then you can get q&a on each thread?
    5. Can ANYONE set up a new thread within one of the forums? And how do you do it??

(I am as green as the baize on this stuff)
You are currently in a thread entitled "Welcome Nic Barrow!"

This thread is part of the "Newbies and Introductions" Forum.

Anyone can start a new thread. Simply click on "Forum" on the green menu bar at the top(ish) of the screen.
There you will find a list of forums.
Click the most relevant forum to your intended thread.
You will then find a complete list of all the threads in that in forum, with a "NEW THREAD" button in yellow at the top left of the screen.

    Cheers

If you click on an individual section there is a new thread button near the top under the advertisements. Give your thread a title and message then click the post button.

If you click the banner at the top with all the snooker players on it that takes you to the home page which lists the 40 most recent threads that have been commented on / created. threads with comments you havent read are in bold. if you click the orange arrow next to the title of the thread it takes you to the first new post you havent previously read.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain this to me.
It will help me navigate a bit better from now on.....

I can assure you Nic doesn't drink coffee or tea or anything else with caffeine in it. When I stayed with him I had to go and buy a kettle just so I could get my caffeine fix in the morning (along with my nicotine fix, which Nic doesn't do either)

              Nic:

For a computer genius like yourself I think you're having us on. And also, if I can pick it up at my dinosaur age surely your young brain can learn and adapt to get you to a point where you can reply in a string quite easily

And answer my emails will you or else I'm going to start sending them priority so they stay on the top of your Outlook Inbox
