layer came off , after just ten days. In fact this is the second time

This sort of problem usually occurs in smaller sizes like 10mm or less.Buy them in 11mm tip size,it should work out fine.

      Problem with Talisman tip

I have been using talisman tips for about 3 years now, never had a problem except for one and that was because I attempted to sand it. Because of the laminate layers if you sand them incorrectly the layers fall apart. I learnt by that and never sand my tip now, theres no need because they don`t lose the shape like pressed tips.

I get mine from ADR147 who has an ebay shop, 11mm snooker soft.

Was it installed by hand or was a lathe used?
If by hand, sand with not to rough a grit and always shape it by sanding towards the ferrule. If it was installed by lathe, always make sure your bit is very sharp and turning at a slow speed to help prevent the tip from heating up.

I must admit that ,i did sand like normally you sand an elk and i am using
10 mm tip for my 9.5 cue tip size. i think it is better to cut the edges
with knife and leave it,sanding is not a good idea for talisman tips.
            anyway thanks guys !!!

Maybe the the knife was not sharp enough and started to tare the layers during cutting? It's probably completely the wrong thing to do, but when I used to play with talisman tips I used to sand the bottom of the tip down to get the right length tip then only lightly shape the top.

never had a problem sanded or not, as a previous poster wrote the 11mm are the most reliable. i order direct from Tony Jones as most people that i retip for ask for these now, bit more expensive but worth it

not to everyones taste though as even the "soft" are pretty firm in comparison to elks or blue diamonds
Its not how well you play its how good you look playing that counts!
