I found the baracuda cue very light, so could do with a little heavier.

Firstly I would be making up my mind on exactly what specification of cue I liked. You can only do this by trying different ones. There's a lot of things to consider. Its not just the way the cue looks or who has made it. It takes time.
Next I would contact a few cue manufacturers for prices.
Lastly I would make sure I put in plenty practice with my new cue before playing with it in a league match.
If you've made your mind up that you like the look of the M7 and want it for Tuesday then go for it but give the cue a fair chance. Don't blame the cue if you can't play the way you used to.

hi deano, i was once in your shoes wanted a cue quick to replace the old one (which was stolen grrrrr). in the end i took 6 months to purchase the cue i have now which is a peradon king cue. as many of the other guys have said its very much about what feels right for you, 2 cues of the same spec by the same manufacturer can throw differently, so my advise to you is before you buy a cue try it out, see how it feels check out the weight and how it throws dont worry about the deign, the right cue will allow you to become a better player not the design.
good luck, happy cue hunting

Hi Deano.
I own a Barracuda gold medal cue (2 piece) and also a Master cue M7 Pyragon (3/4 joint). No question about it, the Master cue is a lot better: superior feel and excellent balance.
Is there are store near you that sells Master cues or maybe someone who owns a Master cue that will let you try it? A trip to Greenbaize would be ideal because you can try different Master cues. The M7 has multiple splices. The Master cue pro butt cues are less expensive because they have fewer splices.
ADR147 has a Master cue Pro Butt 4 for sale in ebay. I've been telling my friends to buy it. If Andrew says it is a good cue, then it must be really good.
By the way, I tried different tips on my M7 cue. Wooldridge super tips works well with the cue.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for your help guys, Unfortunatley there are no places where I am to try all these different cues and the clubs that we go to never have more than 2 cues in stock for sale.
I gave Stu a call at green baize and ended up getting a GBL c3 cue the darker one of them. He has been very helpeful and if I dont like the cue I can return for another or refund. Has anyone used these cues before?
Many thanks again
