  • US snooker championship

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and in fact am a woman that loves the game. We used the name of one of our pet roosters, so I am not really Sam. I found that the US is hosting snooker championships in California August 16-24 and I am bummed that I don't read anywhere about it being broadcasted in the states. Does anyone know? I read that Eurosport also is hosting 300 hours per year of snooker.I can't get this on our satelite programming. Anyone from the US know something that I don't? We are getting our first pool table...tournament size and I am absolutely thrilled but unfortunately I fell in love with snookers after my husband ordered a pool table. I ordered some snooker balls anyway 2 1/8 size and am hoping for the best. All you who have the real thing are sooo lucky. Thanks

      I found this on www.sanjosesnooker2006.us

Information will be added to the SanJoseSnooker2006.us website over the coming weeks, to make available to those unable to attend everything they wish to know about the Championships.

The Championships Organizing Committee have looked at everything and are wishing to have the following in place.

Live Scoring: A new chart is being introduced for the championships which will give frames, frame scores and breaks.

Information: Regular reports, interviews and photographs.

Web casting: This is being discussed and, if agreed, the semifinals and finals will be shown on the web.

Television: Talks are still going on with various networks and it is hoped that the finals will be shown on Eurosport, and on ESPN and NBC11 in the United States.

So it doesn't look like anything is confirmed as of yet...

Yes, a webcast would move them into the 21st century

It would be a massive market they can open up to as well...
