Hi all. Another newbie here.

My name's Darren and I live in Bracknell, Berkshire.

I haven't played snooker for several years... not since I was a student. Back in those days, I was pretty good at pool, but struggled to get more than a 20-ish break in snooker. I imagine that kind of break around here probably counts as "woeful".

Anyway, I've decided to try my hand at the game again. I don't really know where to start, and I don't have any friends that play snooker. But I'll pop along to the local hall, maybe once a week, force the missus to come with me (poor her!), and see what happens...

Any tips welcome! (No pun intended. I'm sure you get that 'round here a lot...)

Where is your local club? I'm in Slough and all the snooker clubs round here have shut down.

If you don't have anyone to play with give me a shout, i'll give you a few games

Welocme to the Forum, I am a recent newbie as well and have found that many posters are extremely knowledgeable and have a lot of good informationto say, just watch out for the odd rude comment (I have fgound that even these tend to be because the posters know each other very well.
I am just down the road from you in Sandhurst.
I too tend to play against the missus, as local players are in short supply.
Without give away any personal contact details, I would be happy to get together for a frame or two. I generally play on Tuesday and Saturday (with the wife) at my local members-club in Sandhurst.
Can any one inform Darrren and myself on who we can get in contact without general broadcast? What is this PM stuff?

Hi Harv and Dean. I play at the John Nike Leisure Complex in Binfield, near Bracknell. Since posting on here previously, I have found a couple of people at work who are keen, so I've had a bit more diversity in the opposition.

But the more the merrier, so if you guys fancy a game, then please let me know. Feel free to drop me a PM anytime. But I have to warn you... I'm, er, not very good! I've not yet managed to get a run of more than four balls! If any of you guys can give me a few pointers, then that would be awesome.
