  • Hello to All

Just to say how pleased I am to join, just found the sie and think it's great.
A little about myself 57 years young have had my own full size Burroughs & Watts table with steel cushions for about 25 years now, moved it 4 time due to many reasons. It's now looked after by Ray Reardon's brother Ron who is a great guy. My cue is a made to measure Northwest witha thin Butt and also a thin shaft that caused a few problems for Kevin but very happy with it.
I'm not the best of players but just love the game, so it will be great to share with like minded people............Thanks

      Welcome detroitman...
You came to the right place then mate.

Ask you a question... why "detroitman"?
The reason I ask is I spent a lot of time in Detroit myself... you as well?

      Cheers!

              Uptight, Clean Outta Sight!!
My uncle was a happening radio DJ in Detroit/Windsor in those days...
one of the first to play Motown so I was lucky enough to meet many soul and R&B and Motown stars!
I remember in 1962 or '63 going to see Stevie Wonder at the Motown Review in the Fox Theater.
I was about 13 or 14 and Stevie was a year younger... he started by playing drums for the kickass rhythm
section then turned them over to Marvin Gaye to play then took to the mic to sing and play harp and I died
and went to Heaven right there. I saw the Light!

You LUCKY LUCKY ................ the one person I would have loved to have seen live in the 60's was Marvin met a few of the others and was good friends with Joe Hunter one of the first FUNK BROS.
Have you or your family got any 45's from that era? always on the look out for records
its like snooker it gets into your blood
                Many thanks

Sorry mate... wish I did... I've lost track of the 45 and 33 1/3 record collections amassed and given or sold or left over the years...
at least 4 or 5 large ones representing growing interest in a broad spectrum of music over more than 45 years.

But I will check with my eldest cousin and let you know if I get lucky.

                  Again, welcome to the forum!

                        Another Newbie

                        Hi all,

I am a huge snooker fan, got my own cue, and my current favourite player is John Higgins, but of all-time is Steve Davis.

Looking forward to the World Championships, and also to knowing more about the game on this forum.
