  • Newbie from Chi

    Hi All,
I have always potted ball here and there, pool mainly. After moving to the UK I have discovered snooker I've been hooked on ever since (watching) but never got really to play it. I have tried to learn basics from books, this forum is like a knowledge well but you cannot beat a real person who knows how to play it. Would there be anyone in Chichester willing to meet up from time to time for couple of hours at the snooker club?

Welcome to TSF plkdowgird. Hope you find someone to play with in your area, there are lots of players on here, so the odds are good.
I'm sure someone will at least be able to recomend a good snooker club somewhere near you.

The Triangle club in Chichester has closed down fairly recently, so I don't know of any 'proper' snooker hall where a lot of players to play are local to you, but the Castle Club in Brighton isn't too far to drive and they have top facilities there now and plenty of good players to play in order to improve your game.

          Hi there,

I play in the Chichester and District league so if you ever wanted a game I would be up for it. I play in Selsey at a British legion it is £1 an hour and better tables than the club in Chi, so we get have a game there if you wanted:snooker:

Costs about £7 to join and the tables are OK, rates are about £6 per hour or more for 'match' tables

                Hi,
I am not sure whether it could be called 'a game', walking the blind rather (on your part) and if you would be up for it, sometime next week or week after maybe, in the evening of course. This week I'm glued to the telly and Sunday going to Telford to watch the UK Championship final.

Yeah we can arrange a game nearer the time, what sort of standard are you at currently?

A begginer as a begginer can get. To start I wouldn't mind just to look at someone good playing. As many times as I have been to Chi's club the players I had come accross there were just as good as me - red, a colour and red with good wind behind their back that is so not much to learn from.

Oh OK, I have had a 146 in a comp and most times I play hit a century, so would be nice to play with someone who appreciates the game. Most of my friends get bored after I pot a few colours

So it is a win-win situation for the both of us I'm such a bad player that you would be by the table anyway having your practice and I don't mind making up the crowd because I could learn from up close

Ok Chissi, 146 in competition. Who are you? I know everyone in Sussex of your standard!

Looks like you scared Chissi away confronting him like this

Having a 146 in competition is pretty special lets face it. I wasn't doubting the guy just trying to establish his identity!
