Que help please!

Hi all, am new to the forum and quite new to the game (although im 34) have been playin once a week for about 6 months and have progressed quite well i think, Top break is only 45. my question is the que i have has snooker craft elite on it and seems like a nice que(is it?) but have herd lots of peeps say a good que can make all the diff. I have a buget of about £250 and want to get a nice que before i get too use to this one! please help. Thanks Paul.

Welcome to the forum mate...i am sure there is nothing wrong with your cue at the moment...but there is nothing wrong with wanting a new cue..i am very sure if you do a search around the forum you will find loads of info about cue's...thanks very much and good luck.

try the for sale section some nice cues on their pal and not bad price either easily get one for that budget hope you find one to suit you

Don't know anything about that cue. One of the cue experts on here might.
You can certainly get a very good cue for £250, but don't worry too much about getting used to the one you have, players successfully switch cues after years of play.
Of course we all like nice cues, but don't expect it to make too much difference to your game, technique, practice and concentration are far more important.

Hi Paul, I supply customised, hand, made cues from Cue Craft. They are top quality and made to your own specifications. I will need to know the following: Tip Size, Cue Length, Weight, Wood for the shaft e.g. Ash or maple. Wood for the butt. Most common is Ebony for a reasonable heavy butt or Rosewood. Jointing e.g. 3/4 or 1 piece (or even 2 piece centre split if you prefer this).
I would recommend having a butt joint to fit a mini-butt and telescopic extension as this cover all options for long shots with the tele ext. and borderline rest shots with the mini-butt. Cue Craft are now fitting the new Air-lock joints. This is a precision engineered joint that is very strong and solid.

To keep it simple Plain Rosewood or Ebony butt with Ash or maple shaft, plus 2 extensions will be within your budget.

I also supply 3/4 and one piece cases from as little as £30 and are further discounted when purchased with a cue and lastly, as a TSF member you'll receive a free cue towel with your first order.

Buying a Cue is a Leap of Faith?. Whether you purchase it in person or have it custom made.? 6 Months ago I ordered a Peradon Cue on line .I had it custom made and sent over to Canada. Do not think to hard on this matter. Get yourself a custom cue and have them put your name on it etc. Make it your own, do not listen to people, a Cue should be personal,the more you handle it you will become more at ease with it. When you miss a ball that is on with a store bought or with a custom cue the answer is that YOU missed it not the Cue. Take your time to get to know your cue. Owning your own Custom cue is a Mind set. Practice, practice. practice your Form and everything will come together.

Peradon cue's are decent, but you can get more for your money in the form of cue craft,craftsman,mastercraft,o'min and mastercue.

try a search on google for greenbaize and craftsman cues as they both have a large range in stock

Funnily enough that was just what I was thinking - made a 45 break after such a relatively short playing career suggests the cue suits him. I must say though a lot of it is in the mind as there is no substitute for good sound technique and quality practise.

Go to the CUE WIZARD (Peradon Site) They offer an interactive Build your own Cue application.You can choose a Boatload of Models ,sizes ,styles, etc. They offer ASH/MAPLE cues. It took me one month to decide what I wanted and the Price Point.(The Price comes up at the end of the build your own process)
** I purchased an Ash cue and being from Canada the normal cue is made from Maple.I am learning how to hit with it. When you get a new cue from were ever you should ask for help from a top player in your local club the guy's are usually helpful.

as leeds is quite far away from me so i have uped my buget and am lookin at a john Parris are they worth the money?
