I’ve posted a few times but neglected to introduce myself.
Mark from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
I played a lot of snooker in my teens during the 60’s. University, family and career halted my misspent youth for 35 years.
Just getting back into it as I plan to misspend my retirement. I was a decent club player but shot on instinct. Once back at it, I made the mistake of trying to analyze my technique. I altered stance, grip, cue position eye movement etc and everything went to “pot”.
Fortunately I found this forum and read almost all of the coaching advice. It helped enormously. WHEN I do everything correctly the balls home in on pockets like laser guided missiles and positional play is starting to improve.
The ANAVET club I play at is a long way from home but cost is $1.50 / hour. Approximatley one GBP. I’m way ahead as other pool halls don’t have good tables, if any 6 X 12’s, and generally charge $6 – 8.00 + / hour.
I was also very fortunate to find Airin through the forum. First contact to cue in hand was about two weeks. My Aurora cue is a pleasure to use.
Snooker is not televised in Canada but I’ve watched matches on very good quality live streaming channels listed on the forum.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for improving my total snookering experience.
Regards eh!
