  • best pool break off shot?

What is the best way to pot a ball from a break off shot in english pool?

  • #2
Strike the leading ball of the pack just off centre very hard with top spin. If your lucky a ball will go in to the middle pocket but its never certain.

      I've got three
      1. Similar to rottweilers but centre ball to stun white. Aim is to hold the white while splattering balls everywhere at great pace expect to pot in any number of pockets. If you have big arm 3,4 balls!
      2. Again kind of similar but start about 2in from centre strick with bottom right firmly. Don't whack it like no1! Aim full ball on point red. the white should then hit right side cushion on go back into pack for a second split. Most often see pots in right middle and top corners. Good break if you don't have a big arm. Having said that don't tickle it!
      3. Called the Yarmouth break after the big inter league events held there (nice fast tables) White starts from far right side behind line. strike the thrid ball up on right side of triangle quite hard with bottom. White will again bounce back in off side cush. Expect nice split and pot on good table expect f all on slow table. Watch for in off in top corner if bottom doesn't take!
Some pro's strike second ball up!

Watfords No. 3 but striking the second ball from the triangle point (and sometimes with a trace of LHS) is the best IMHO
