  • Hello from a new member on the forum.

Hi and good morning to all

My name is Ben, and I am from Crawley, West Sussex. I started playing snooker around 18 months ago. I don't play as often as I would like, due to shift work, marriage etc etc. Would like to play more often, and would be interested in joining a league if anyone knows of one that is 'local' (within 30-40 mins driving distance of Crawley) The more practice I get, the better I will become hopefully! :snooker:

Would also be interested to know of any decent clubs within the area?

I will shut up now rabbiting now, have a good day anyone that happens to read this post!

    Cheers to all

    Ben Daniels

There are a few decent leagues near to Crawley but the Crawley league itself is poor. However, as you have only recently picked up a cue the standard may well exceed your current abilities anyway. The mid-sussex league is pretty good and friendly as well, with the Hassocks and Keymer club the best venue (about 20 mins from you but with only 4 tables). The best for quality of players is the Brighton league. The best club locally is definitely the Castle Club in Brighton with 16 tables, cleaned regularly, 8 of which have TV style lighting.
I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

Welcome Ben. Check out franksandellcuesport.co.uk should you need any advice or help. As Magicman says Crawley is a bit limited. The Mid Sussex league would be best for you. They have a nice website and the Chairman Roy Tucknott is a diamond. The United services club at Haywards Heath has four nice tables and very active players.

Hi & thanks to both of you who sent me some info. Its much appreciated. I am hoping to start playing more often as/when time allows. I do enjoy playing snooker and seem to find it quite relaxing. Hopefully I can enter competitions etc, once I am finally good enough to take on other people. For now, I am just quite happy to get the practice in and see where that takes me.

You never know, I might even be able to challenge both of you kind fellows to a game at some point?

        Thanks & Regards

        Ben Daniels
