  • Just to introduce myself

When I started playing billiards back in the mid fifties, in Canada, as in Britain, snooker was the game of choice. Sometime in the mid 80's, American pool was introduced to bars (pubs) and snooker was moved out by 8-ball and 9-ball.

Like most, I quit playing snooker and I also found that I'd lost the necessary patience to play the game well. Recently, another instructor (an ex-snooker pro) showed me a couple of snooker practice drills that reawakened the spark and my facination for the game.

    Thanks for listening,

    The old professor,

      Welcome from me ,too

Could easily be that I am even older. But it is nice to know, that there are some more oldies around here.

          Hello, redspot,
can't believe it. I am not the oldest. My start was later. Not with the best break, to be honest. But the frame I am in now is okay. Could become a century.

                Welcome
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
