btw. go a lot to the home-page to check up on threads (at least the 30 last ones appear chronologically there. And- notice the little green rectangle, that leads you to the last post in a thread.
Another thing, check in your 'my panel' and configure your set-up in such a way, that you don't receive e-mail notifications for every post...

One last thing: what do the symbols to the left of the thread title mean?
On one I see an envelope with an arrow, whilst on another I see a yellow head and shoulders!

just hover over them with your cursor and you'll have the explanations

actually not, but if you click on 'view all subscribed threads', you'll have explanations at the bottom of this page

The yellow head means you have posted on that thread (hover your mouse on it and it will tell you how many times and when was the last).

If the tick is also there it means there are posts that you have not viewed.

If you go into one of the forums (the green button at the top) there is a key at the bottom of the page.
