Hi guy, i had bought a 14mm kamui medium tip, think that i had bought the wrong size for snooker but can i just trim it to fit my snooker cue tip? mine is 9.5mm. is there any difference for 14mm and 11mm kamui tips? thanks for any advice.
Maybe you should have got a soft Kamui. I used a tiger sniper soft on my snooker cue and was the best tip I had ever used. I now have a talisman layered tip on my pool/snooker hybrid cue (11.5mm), it was 13mm and I trimmed it down, it also plays very well.
You could always sandpaper the top layer or 2 off, down to personal preference though tbh
I went into a chemist and asked for a deodorant, the assistant said "ball, stick or aerosol", "No, I want it for under my arms!" was my reply.
ya i bought it on ebay and had told the seller to change it to super soft kamui. Think it will be better for playing snooker. But 14mm to 9.5mm.... think it take some time to trim it down.
Fit it as central as possible, upturn the cue onto a cutting board and slice the excess of all around with a sharp blade. File and shape as normal and burnish the sides (assuming you can do that with a laminated tip) Sorted! If it delaminates on you you know you cant really do it!!
layered tips are really harder , even the soft ones ( never tried super soft kamuis ) . friday i recieved my new phoenix soft tip and it
plays great . only played for 3 hours so don't know how it's gonna evolved . problem is that anyway tip got to suit your game and no one can really give You the "solution" . as i said before trimming a 14mm tip Is not really a problem bit for me it's gonna be to thick
