Norwegian papers only write about the World Championships.
And I know very few people who actually know what snooker is, let alone watch it....

Hi Chrisfinch, Rich, Nina, Ellena :-) *shakes hands*

Yes, the beer is extremely expensive here, but £7?! Ah, I wouldn't know, I only ever go out when I'm in Germany, which is quasi my second home. Much cheaper there! Only 4 more days and I'll be in Germany again *bounces*

£7 for a pint ? With £7 here one can get stone drunk - you can get 7 beers ( or more , it depends).

Another fine reason to visit a country I've never been to!

It wasn't much less in other places as well...admit it, Norway is very expensive for alcohol! Whereas people in the UK pop over to France for cheap beer, people in Norway pop over to Newcastle on the ferry which indicates the difference in price. My parents did a Newcastle-Bergen return cruise and they said it was jam packed with Norwegians bringing back crates of beer! Thankfully I'm not a big drinker anyway (especially in Norway)!

Norway is very expensive in every possible way. Whilst some will go to England to do shopping, this is mostly for the tax free shop on the ferry, and for getting sloshed on the ferry. This whole going with the ferry anywhere is a good example of one of the most important Norwegian traditions: getting leglessly ****ed at each and every opportunity. Those who live close to Sweden or Denmark (or even Germany) will go there to shop; alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, meat, cheese, loo paper, cat food and ... porn.

I'm quite sure that Norway is THE most expensive country in the world, followed by Switzerland and Iceland.

Edit: and hullo April madness! I believe your signature, I do. It probably has something to do with spring and the general madness that breaks out in the population around that time
