After layoff of around 40 years I have decided to try my hand again. My old cue of which I stored away in its case is not usable as it warped along its length. Bought a used cue and case and started going to our local British Legion.

Oh Boy what disaster I seem to have forgotten all the basics I think I am in for a long learning session.

So lots of reading here and viewing videos to get things right again.

The modern game seems to achieved great accuracy and there is a temendous amount of help ( some conflicting ) on the internet.

so it's practice and tuition time again.

So Guys be prepared for a lot of questions

As for my old cue spent some time reviwing its condition today and found that the butt has a crack as well as the warping so decided to place it into memories.

The cue I obtained is a Riley Prestige Dufferin with a rosewood Butt with maple veneer and a maple shaft. I installed a new tip and ready for for the session tomorrow evening.

comments as to thoughts about the cue I have as being suitable fo a starter would be welcome

I think any cue will do at the moment len as you're just getting back into the swing of things. It's the technique you will have to repair. Good luck.

After playing with the Riley cue for a couple of months. I was not totally comfortable with it. I was taken by a Cue Craft 5 piece cue used by a pal of mine and he let me use it for an evening . I felt totally at home with it felt totally right in the hand and the balance seemed to suit . So I bought it from him and my game has come a lot since then.Still got some problems I have raised on a different thread but am extremely pleased with the purchase.
