  • Edinburgh 'player'

    Hi all,
Mainly on to find some info about joining a league team in Edinburgh, as I hear there's a handicap system lol. Highest break of 57 was when I was 13 believe it or not, best break in last 4 years is 28 so that's my sort of level lol.
My mate and I play a 'race to 100', I'm holding the trophy having won 100-91 which took 4 years, and I'm winning in the 2nd one too.

Mark Your mate isn't George is it? I played him on Thursday and he was asking questions about handicaps etc. If you ARE George's mate then I know who you are. You were on Table 2 last Sunday when Ross made a 147!!!

Well teams been going 3 years we play in the bottom league but were pretty competitive this year. Lost a player part way through season (who I have replaced for next year) but having problems with other young lads in my team just coming and going when they like.

Ideally I just want someone who like playing snooker, can be reallied to turn up play consistently and enjoys few beers with the lads.

Also we play out of the New Yorker.

The New Yorker is about a 10 minute walk for me and I've a couple of mates in one of their pool teams, think I'm sold! I'll definitely enjoy the beers with the lads, try my best and always been reliable regarding teams I've played for etc.

Best thing to do then mate is just meet up one weekend for few frames sound each other out. Make sure you don't think am a pratt and vice versa.

I am looking to making a few changes to team next year and also possibility of venue change depending on who is in next years team so its all a bit up in the air at the moment.

Mark Aldo's team would be a good choice for you IMO if the New Yorker is handy. Aldo is a good guy. We met up a while back for a few frames and he's a bandit off his 45 handicap!! lol. We bump into each other on league nights sometimes but as we're in different leagues are never in opposition. Aldo's probably too modest too mention he's recently passed his Grade III ref's exams so knows his snooker.
                        Best of luck.
