Hi snooker geeks/guru's!
First of all, thanks for all the advise and tips i've gained from you all already. ( You dont know it but i've been walking amongst you for a while now!)
It's interesting to see all the varying views and opinions on each topic, and also quite amusing to see how 50/50 views are on equipment.
I started playing snooker/pool at around 9 years old and have continued to play pool for most of my life, i'm 37 now and am happy to say very rarely beaten (at the pub on a Friday night). I have never used my own cue for pool, i always just picked up the closest broom handle and cracked on.
I recently decided to get back to playing snooker, I have not played since I was about 19, but after a couple of visits to the local club i've been hooked again! Already getting into the 30 breaks so fancied getting my own cue instead of using the club cues to see if i can actually improve, or see if this is as good as i'll get!
When playing snooker in my teens i never got out of the 40's!!!!
So after many hours of forum frolicking i decided to grab a semi decent cheap cue (the only decision i could come to), a nice tip, green chalk and see how it goes! Let me see if i can manage to hit the club at the same frequency as i did in my teens with a consistant cue and try and get a 50 break within the year.
I'll keep you posted!
If i fail, i'll have fun trying
Keep up the good advise guys
Phil
