  • Looking for info on stevens and sons snooker table

Hope no one minds my name - I wanted something I could remember.

The other day, I picked up a snooker table for the family to enjoy. After bringing it home, I wanted to figure out what I have. It appears to be quite old.

Reading another post on this site, I'm trying to understand when it was made.

The name on the table is "Stevens and Sons, London" and the address is Villiers Street Charing Cross.
Based on the post above, I'm guessing the table might date from 1830 to 1860? However, I really doubt I have acquired a table more than 150 year old.

Looking at the inside of the base, along with the Stevens and Sons is the number: 615.
The playing surface is 46"x92". The balls are about 1-7/8".

It appears that it was modernized at one point in it's life, here's a link to a label at the other end of the table:

A company named E.J. Riley Limited.

I can't find a way to post pictures - just links. Let me know if there are any pictures folks might like to see.

Also, the scoreboard that came with the table may be >100 years old? Based on the address 19 Brewer St London W. They moved in 1912 to a different address on the same street.
