  • Greetings from Singapore

    Hi,
Am from Singapore & it has been years since I last played snooker.
I was watching Snooker World Champion last night in China & suddenly felt the urge to start playing it again.
Right now I need to get a new 3/4 cue but totally clueless which or what kind of cue to get. Anyway, am glad that I found this forum & needs time to browse through most of the thread slowly.

    Cheers...
    Simon

Hi there! Maybe SGD150-200. I used to have a Powerglide 3/4 cue but was lost when shifted to a new house.
      Any recommandations?

I see. you buying at Singapore or other country? Because as you know cues in Singapore are mostly overpriced compare to other countries. Omins cues, powerglide or norton cues.

Currently I am in China now! Was browsing one of the most popular web shopping page www.taobao.com & there got tonnes of cues to choose from. But I am really lost at which one to get & it comes with all sorts of package to choose from.

firstly, Maple or Ash shaft. most of players will go for Ash shaft. This is personal preference also. The size of the tip and butt.. some people like small tip size. standard tip size is 9.5mm (if I not wrong). The length of the cue also. My advice, buy cue when you are able to try and get the right feeling of it. Find a cue that you really feel comfortable with. =)

I beg to differ on this.

Firstly you're talking about physical cues being in the country..means you can do the following

                      1. Pick several you like

                      2. Try several you like

But remembering that you're able to do so becos the retailer has to take in the following expenses first

                      1. Shipping cost - approx $100

                      2. GST 7%

                      3. Handling fee by the courier

Also cue prices have gone up quite a bit in the recent years.

I know that. Majority of the stuffs in local are not cheap. The tax here everything will bring up the cost and snooker not cheap in sg. What I trying to say is if he can get it cheap and good outside sg just go for it.

                            Cheers
