  • Good maple cue?

Hi all, I'm a relatively new person to snooker, but I am being trained by one of the Uk's top coaches (Neil Johnson), and he has told me that due to my very unique playing style and sighting of the ball, I am best suited to a maple cue. After countless hours of searching, I haven't found a single cue that suits me. What I need is:

    Maple shaft
    Screw-in extensions
    19-20oz weight

Can anyone suggest a good cue maker who would be able to sort me out with something like this?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds a bit odd, not really sure why a sighting technique would favour maple over ash

Yeah, looks nice enough i know it's more likely to be a chinese cue than a JP, but can't find anything similar to compare price?

As others have asked, what is this "very unique" style and sighting?
And why would maple be better suited?
                      Very intriguing
                      cheers

The reason for this is because the arrows on ash make for a massive distraction (in my opinion).

I am in the northwest of England (Liverpool). And I can go anywhere up to about £250.

As for my sighting, the many different shades and lines on ash distract my eyes from the task (object ball, pocket etc), whereas maple is plain, and doesn't draw any attention from my playing. The flexibility of maple also makes it easier for me to hit the ball well.

maple can be as stiff as ash, and ash can be a flexible as maple
Wood is natural and can vary piece by piece and also the cue maker can affect the play of it by various methods.
I used a maple cue for over 25 years and only recently (within 2years) bought an ash cue.
The maple is very stiff and the new ash is (in my opinion) medium stiff.
I thought that the grain on the ash would annoy me but from day 1 it did not at all.
But I still do like the plain clean looks of maple
