Just a bit of background. I started playing snooker at age 16 and immediately
loved the game and played it into my mid 20's. Then I got away from it as
snooker is declining sadly here in Canada. I did play a fair bit of pool with my
son and its only been a year since I got back into snooker. I am now retired
(64 yrs old) and adjusting to the 6x12 snooker table with my trusty old 'pool'
cue (21 oz x 13mm) and just last month I bought an inexpensive snooker cue
(18 oz x 10mm) has been a challenge. I can still have a break of 6 blacks or
5 blacks or 6 blues but they are as rare as hen's teeth. Usually my game is less
than ideal and a black and a pink looks good LOL.
I have been working hard on my stance, aiming and the basics so I thought it
time to buy my 'last cue' sort of speak.
I am indeed a snooker lover and get out 4-5 times a week and hopefully keep
    loving it and improving.

This is a great site for me and it has been helpful.

Being retired and divorced makes life simple in some ways and
not so easy in others LOL.

      Thanks for the welcome.

Hello. If you feel comfortable with the pool cue go with it, there's an older guy at my local club who uses a cue with a tip roughly that size and even when he's not concentrating he's knocking in 50/60's without effort, i recently got a new cue with a 10mm, used to have a 9mm but played with a 10mm and found that I just hit the ball better with it. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome and I have decided that 13mm is too big
and yet 10mm is too small so I am looking to get a snooker cue
with a tip in between as I do like the feel of a snooker cue.
