    Hi Everybody,

My name is David and I am the administrator of these forums, I hope you like them, and if there are any improvements that you can think of of making please PM me.

Well, I decided to create these forums because basically I can find forums on every other subject apart from snooker, so I though it would be usefull to create one.

Well I am a keen snooker fan, I enjoy watching and playing, sadly ive always been better at watching I do play quite often but never seem to be that consistant and made breaks in the 60's but never any higher.

Anyway it would be nice to hear from other snooker fans, and I hope you enjoy the site.

    Regards,

    David

Hi, thanks for joining Syabris and welcome.

Yea I feel it could be extremely hard to get a snooker forum started, but hopefully with a bit of work we'll get there, i'm not one for giving up. Theres definately space for a snooker forum on the Tinternet

I do agree with the layout, I do have plans to get one specialy designed with a snooker theme, but diddnt really want to invest too much untill i see that the forum gets an established community base.

Anyway thanks for joining and I hope you stay, try to get a few members for us if you will

        Thanks

        Dave

scares me lol i got a 42 and that was only once, i blew up on the blue when i realised how many points i had and nearly passed out trying to get the straight blue into the middle pocket to make nearly 50

Well to get this place to rock we need more snooker oriantated people to come and post, i'll be staying i only have one place i hang out thats WHT and i'm not into hosting its the only place people seem to go for a chit chat.

I would hold of on the skin for now they can be expensive and like you say you need a decent community to spend the money, you never know get some good people involved and we may just donate .

one thing though could you switch on the fast reply thingy its easier than pressing reply lol i'm lazy

                      G'day g'day.
I'm about 1 hour new here, and so far i'm far more impresed with it than with any of the newsgroups i've seen. Well, done.

Allow me to introduce myself. my name is Jeff from the land down under, 27, and lover of all billiard games. (snooker, 8ball, straight pool, cowboy, billiards...you name it, i'll play it). Though it doesn't mean i'm good at them. i have my days where i'm on fire.

I don't get a lot of free time, but i'll frequent the forum as often as possible, and i'm sure i know a few people that would be interested in frequenting the site.

My highest break? i'd be guessing. 40? 50?

Cowboy. I don't know the origin of the game. But I first came across the game playing a PC game online. Virtual Pool 3, you may have heard of it?

I'll give the basic idea of the game.
1ball on the head spot, 5ball in the middle and 3ball on the pink spot.

THe game is broken up into 3 sections of points 0-90, 91-100, and 101

0-90 Break must be on the 3ball. Points are scored two ways to get to 90. Face value of the potted ball....and caroms. Sink the 5ball and cue caroms onto the 3ball =6 points (the potted 5 plus one point for the carom) All potted balls a re-spotted (unless it's spot is occupied, then wait until spot available)
(must finish on 90 exactly, or else thats a foul and you go back to the points you had before that inning. any foul results in a loss of points for that turn at the table.

91-100 All points are scored via caroms only. Potting a ball is a foul. hitting two object balls with the cue =1point, hitting all three object balles =2points.

point 101 Call sh t. Scratch the cue ball off the 1ball(only)

Sorry, i tried to keep it short as possible. Any questions , don't hesitate to ask.

I created a new thread by mistake, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dean, from Corby originally, but at uni in Sheffield. I'm 20, 21 next week and a keen snooker fan - favourite player has gotta be Ronnie O'Sullivan without a doubt.

I'm pretty pants at playing actually, the best break i've ever had is in the low thirties and that was a good 5 years ago on a flukey day! I've joined up to a club here in Sheffield, but haven't had time to go lately, been cramming in the work before uni starts again! Got myself a cheap cue, chalk and case from Sports Soccer so we'll see how I go
