    Hi all,

Just popping in to introduce myself. I'm excited to be a part of a growing population of snooker players here in the states.

If there are any other players located in the Pacific Northwest, say hi!
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Cheers, longbomber! I'm looking to enter a few tournaments next year along the west coast. Anything interesting going on in Vancouver?
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Hi PetMarmoset, spread the word and get more tables incorporated into clubs over there. Then I could bring my cue on holiday when I fly over the pond. Americans need to realise that as far as cue-sports are concerned, snooker is where it's at!
I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

There is a 1000 top prize tournament in Richmond end of March. It's at High Break Billiards (highbreakbilliards.com I think). Entry fee is 50 and table time does apply for lost matches. Good venue. It's my regular hangout. Give them a call for more info.

Thanks Neil. While my location is listed as Portland, I'm actually in Eugene for my undergraduate studies right now. There is one snooker table in Eugene - a ten footer with pool table cloth on it. It's not ideal, but with only one table in town, I can't really complain.

The good news is that it's practically walking distance from me. So no, I don't have to travel to play. I would have to travel to find good equipment. There aren't any proper full sized English snooker tables in Oregon. I'd have to go to San Francisco or Los Angeles, or even Vancouver (and I intend to).

I'm doing my best! Every time I have to compete with someone for time on the table, I say "Oregon needs a good snooker club."

To be honest, most Americans, even if they're familiar with pool, have never seen or heard of snooker. Nearly every time I play, I have to explain the game to someone who's curious (the table is in a pub).

Anyway, bring your cue if you're headed to Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, or Houston. Those cities all have good snooker clubs.

Thanks, Dean. Yes, that's the site I use to find tables. Unfortunately it's not entirely accurate. Great resource, but it lists a number of tables that simply don't exist anymore.
