  • Hello

Hi all, a newbie here from Bulgaria, the land of no century breaks...yet.
I'm just picking up the game, having played pool for about 6 months to learn the basics of a potting-balls-in-pockets game so that I don't make a complete mockery of the great game of snooker. So, I want to say hello, I've been reading the forum for a while and found loads of valuable information already. Still, I need to make a couple of posts to be able to use all member features. Having said that, I truly dislike posting stuff like "lol" or "concur" just to get the posts I need, so it might take a while, and suggestions in this direction are welcome.

Good luck yusha. I was in Sofia for the World Amateur Championships in November/December. It was held in the Princess Hotel in the downtown area and there was a club about 10 blocks away which had 5 good snooker tables along with some pool tables.

I'm certain century breaks will be coming to Bulgaria soon as I did see some fairly decent local players in this club who would be capable of making centuries. All they needed was a bit more practice. I also ran into Nic Barrow giving a coaching lesson to a player in the club.

Coming out of the mouth of the coach of coaches, I guess this is an expert opinion, and not you being too polite
Quite surprising to hear that Nic Barrow has also started giving lessons in Bulgaria, but with the way the game is (again) growing in the Eurosport/bookmakers era, that could be expected. Hopefully soon we will have local coaches qualified enough to be of real benefit to players.
