  • New fool seeks advice !!!

Hi all , I am new to this site and seek help with a couple of Items please !!!! I have just taken snooker up and having played pool on off for many years !!! What is great for a pool table seems very different for the snooker table ??? IE my 56 inch cue craft wand is superb for pool but I struggle with it on a real table !!! I am looking to purchase a budget Used cue around £80 pref One piece !!! But as always want the best not worried too much re ; condition as I can restore myself !!! Also Mike Wooldridge supertips ??? Are they a worthy contender for a snooker cue or for that matter my pool cue ??? How can they be guaranteed to be a good tip every time ?? As advertised ?? Look forward to any and all advise .. Regards Tommy ..

Welcome to the forum Tommy, if you put up a wanted post in the items for sale section you'll no doubt get something on here for your budget, used Mastercue, Craftsman, Phoenix O'min etc would be good choices. For Snooker 57/58inch are the average length for cues, so maybe better staying in that bracket if you can help it. As for Mike Wooldridge tips, excellent! My tip of choice for sure, as for guaranteeing a great tip every time you better ask Mike on here but I've not had a bad one to date...

You can't go wrong with mikes tips, imagine a perfect elk every time with no bedding in needed and you get a good idea why so man people swear by them.
Cue wise, put up exact specs of your current cue and someone will tell you your best specs for snooker, buy second hand stretch it up to £100 if you can, and if you don't get on with it you won't lose much if you decide to swap it.
No one is listening until you make a mistake!
