Greetings, I'm Keith from the far north ( Bower, near Wick Caithness ) just joined, sadly don't play as much as I would like but I'll hopefully remedy that soon enough, I own a full sized John Taylor and Son table circa 1895 including matching light, score board and all the cues and original balls, it is currently dismantled and stored and will hopefully be up some day ( when I've built the extension ) if I find the pics of the table when I got it I'll add them up, and I'll maybe say how little I paid for it :-) ( bargain ) anyway cheers for now Keith

    Welcome to TSF Keith
When you said far north you were not kidding
Hope you get the extension soon and the table up and running soon, and dont forget to take loads of piccies and share them with us
There are several threads on "potting sheds" that you may be interested in what others have done, lighting, AC/dehumid, etc.
Are there many clubs around your location?
    cheers
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

Cheers lads, I must get some piccys up, I was very fortunate with the table, always wanted a full sized table, saw an advert in the local paper offering a table free to any organisation, I put if off for a few days assuming I wouldn't get it, when I called I was the first caller, it was the local police station, they had been ordered by the top brass to get rid of the table as they should be stopping breaking and entering not break building ;-) so I offering a donation to the police benevolent fund £100 and went to see the table, imagine my happiness when I saw what it was, it's rare to steal from the police but that's what it felt like, I will need to give the wood a light refurb, I don't know much more about the table but I'd like to know more about the history and such like, I will try to dig out some pics over the weekend. There are only a couple of tables in my area, they have dwindled in recent years. can't wait to my man cave is built, planning a full bar and jukebox, proper man cave, anyway thanks for the welcome lads, I'm looking forward to a good nosey round the site, regards Keith.

Also if anyone has any info on John Taylor and Son tables or a copy of a set of John Taylor rules I'd be very interested.
