Hi folks, newbie here - based in Twickenham, W London. I used to play quite a few years ago (when I was a firefighter) but not played for the last 20 years. Joined my local Rileys a month ago after the cricket season finished (I coach cricket) and the snooker bug has well and truly bitten.

I am now in the market for a new cue - any advice would be great. I would ideally like to get a hold of a few cues and make my mind up, however there doesn't seem to be any retailers with a decent stock near me ???

I am also looking to take a few lessons to start me off on the right track - again, any experience of coaches in the area would be gratefully received.

Firstly , welcome to the Forum .

Cue : what's your budget ? .........only one with stock would by John Parris in Catford or you might be lucky with Robert Osborne in Tooting . But both are fairly expensive .

Coaching : There is a coach at Frames in Coulsdon , Surrey . Not sure of any nearer .
