Could somebody please tell me anything about the snooker table we have at our house, it cam wight he house when we brought it. It has a name plaque of Blackburn and Hixon, Leeds on it but I don't seem to be able to find anything on the internet for this. Here are a couple of photos.

The big question, did you buy the house especially because it had a snooker table?

Blackburn & Hixon

Blackburn & Hixon is an obscure billiards firm. It was a partnership between Thomas Blackburn and William Hixon trading as billiard table manufacturers. They operated in Leeds at Carnaby Street and Fenton Street in the late 1880s. The partnership probably only lasted a few years. I know it was dissolved in June 1890. After the dissolution of the partnership, Blackburn and Hixon continued to trade separately. William Hixon became the principal of Hixon & Sons (with his sons, William Junior, James and Edward). William Hixon Snr died in 1924 but Hixon & Sons continued to trade after his death, until at least as late as the 1930s. Blackburn appears to have traded on his account, probably until around 1914. I believe Blackburn died in 1916.
