  • Intro

    Hi,

Time I introduced myself properly. I started playing pool in a youth club my mum god rest her soul, used to run, at the age of 4 in 1976 and used to have to stand on a chair to take shots! By the age of 11, in the early eighties I was beating just about everyone in the local pubs at pool and played for a pub pool team at times. I often used to win the in house competitions at one pub on Friday nights exchanging the first prize of a big bottle of whisky for the money instead! Second prize was a tenner! Won that too a few times and nearly always made it as far as the semis! At this stage as well I fell in love with snooker on the box but didn't play on a full size table until I was 14. I'm 41 now.

I was just starting to show some signs having maybe a bit of potential but I got into going football matches, chasing women and drinking, raving, usual mischief etc and I let it drift with some brief returns over the years. My highest break ever is only a modest 42. Snooker is a different ball game to pool that's for sure.

Somehow got into collecting old cues as well and have bought at least one little classic from a member of this forum and maybe even some others and I'm always always on the look out for another, depending on cash flow at the time!

I seem to have developed a new found passion and want to improve my game as best I can and always open to any advice and very grateful too. It's good to have somewhere to go where others will understand and there is a reference to ones daily thoughts. It's good to talk

    That's me in a nutshell I suppose.

    I bid you hello.

    Regards

    Mike

      Hi Neil many thanks.

I started playing again recently at the Hurricane club in Kings cross. I used to play at Kentish Town snooker club but it shut about 7 years ago sadly ole Cliff Thorburn was known to pop by as well as a few others over the years, had a bit of history that place. Before that at a club in tooting when I was 14.

Still trying to work out up loading photos thing I'll give it a go!

When you reply to this, click on 2nd symbol from the right (above the white box where you type) and hopefully you can work it out from there
Or if you use a hosting site such as photobucket, just copy and paste the IMG code of the pic into your response

When you click the reply button, look at the top of the reply box, there should be a square with what looks like a tree in the middle click that and it should say upload then just Choose which photos you wish to upload well that's the case on my computer anyways.
