Hi all,

I am from Switzerland and I have recently started playing snooker. I got infected with the virus when I started watching snooker on Eurosport in the middle of the 90`s. There are not much possibilities to play snooker here, but I finally found a club. Furthermore, I am collecting snooker cues.

Hi nuggetpoint and welcome. Is your favourite player called Steve by any chance?? If you collect cues you are in the right (or wrong depending on how bad you get hooked) place. Have a look on the thread "pictures of my cue", some absolute beauties on there. Enjoy the forum mate.

I will soon put some pictures of my collection in here, promised! I do own cues from Robert Osborne, Mike Wooldridge, Abban Reddy, Dave Coutts (coming soon!), John Parris and Crispian Jones. And yes, snooker is not really popular in Switzerland. Have you heard of Alexander Ursenbacher? He is the first professional Swiss Snookerplayer, now 17 years old and really talented.

I forgot Trevor White and Stamford Cuemakers, they belong to my collection too. Most of my cues are made of the traditional design, plain ebony and ash shaft.

Wouw !!! You have the collection of the best cue makers in the world. you should be collecting cues for a few years !!!! classic design is one of the finest !!! btw, Alexander is a very talented player. but to be honest with you , i did'nt know he comes from Switzerland !! Sorry. Anyway , glad you enjoy this forum !!! Hopefully I can learn English ( and snooker ) from you , (because your English is much better than me !!!).
