  • Hi I am eferata

    Hi guys,
I am eferata. I stopped playing snooker for about 13 years. Just pick up the game back last couple of months. I am a very normal player that can often get 20-30 points only. Now I am trying very hard to find out how to play deep screw. Wish me luck!!

my trick for screw shots : "less is more"
    without major technical jargon
I find to get good screw-back shots, don't try too hard - so play with "less" thought of power/follow-through and you will get "more" screw-back
Any time you think of "power" you will unconsciously tense somewhere in your action and not deliver the cue in a smooth, fast, in-line, accelerating motion, with good follow-through

Thought of changing cue tip this weekend.. Which type is good for screwing? And what does compress tip mean?

It's not really the type of tip that helps with screwing, it's the cue action !!
Compress means exactly what it says ! some people like to squash their tips before using them, seems daft to me lol

A good piece of advice I was given after an ex pro watched my game was that when screwing, my bridge hand was too high therefore angle of the cue was not horizontal... he told me too collapse it by a few mm and as a result the cue will be more level and point of impact on cue ball will be lower meaning greater back spin. Give that a go.

                            Hi all,
My current screw back distance is as follow:
Cue ball at brown area, object ball is between pink and black. Cue ball and object ball in a straight line. Pot the object ball and screw back to cue ball origin area. Can't do any further......😔😔😔😔
I really admire Stephen lee and jimmy cue power. I think no matter how hard I try, I won't get near to them. 😔😔😔😔😔
