Hi Andrean, welcome to the forum. I'm not from Indonesia, but can I ask why you picked that username? I have a few friends from malaysia who probably use that word in a different context.

snooker now has changed a lot huh..6 years ago snooker was dying..only few tournaments..the president of snooker at that time..was something walker..if im not wrong..and snooker had problem to get sponsor..

now i see snooker has improved a lot.got many tournaments and sponsors

last time i lost desire on snooker..maybe in indonesia is not popular at all..almost no one play snooker..only pool..only few clubs here got snooker table..and no one plays it..

and at that time..i got many problems in life so had no time for that..now everything is much better..

We used to have a lot more places to play snooker. Now I can think of only 2 or 3 with decent enough tables. Maybe there are private clubs around which I'm not aware of. But the younger ones all seem to prefer American pool, if at all interested in cue sports.

There's an ongoing thread about how snooker is dying in the UK. It's not like snooker has ever been huge here but I can see some similarity. Some of the posts are quite insightful. Worth a read.

It's ok here, I would say that snooker isn't at its strongest though at the minute. In certain parts of the country clubs are shutting down and hence there are less and less places to play, but again it depends on where you live.

oh same as here..in here too..everyone plays pool..but i see pool fans are also decreasing..i see there are many pool shops are closed..not popular as used to be..now i see mostly younger generation here loves football and they play futsal(indoor football)..

but in china snooker is booming there..i see snooker now is much better than 6 years ago which only have 6 tournaments in a year and lost many sponsors since lead by rodney walker..luckily barry hearn saved it..

sorry for my english..i hardly use english in indonesia..unlike in malaysia and singapore..

I think 9 ball is increasing in popularity but I think that most people see it as an easy game in comparison to snooker or english pool. I think the most popular cue sport in the uk is english 8 ball pool, far easier that snooker to play but very difficult to become the best at it as anyone can beat you at it. Football is very popular here but I think more watch it either on tv or at the stadium rather than play it. Essentially I think the UK has become quite lazy with the youth much preferring to play on either computers or going out drinking and partying.

haha yes 8 ball and 9 ball is too easy to play..i even can clear the table by 1 hand and 1 eye opened..and yes anyone can beat you as good player vs good player and the lucky will decide..

only few balls..small table..absolutely too easy to
                          play..

snooker is still the hardest cuesport..the god/king of the cuesport and the game of the gods..

i think snooker is started to grow in other country..im surprised now got bulgaria open..maybe its growing now in east europe...middle east also increasing..

anyway..now i start to play snooker again..and i play it for fun..no more big ambition like used to be..
