  • Hi from Scotland

    Hi guys,

I'm new on here and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the d=right direction regarding playing snooker competitively?

I've played a few times as a youngster but after getting a game at the pub the other night I thought it would be quite cool to enter snooker tournaments.

The downside is that I'm pretty poor at it but hopefully having something to practice for would help lol.

I've tried emailing the edinburgh league (Think it's called EICA) but have not heard anything back. Does anyone know of any leagues or club around the edinburgh area? Preferably the side closest to broxburn.

All help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Craig K

It's central Edinburgh that the league is played in but give me a shout and I can go into it in more detail.

Welcome to the Forum Kerr. Haggishunter will sort you out with all the details. Have to say I'm a bit upset that no-one replied to your e-mail. There's a Facebook page which some folk post on to. I know a couple of lads from your area play in the league. Really hope you get sorted out.

PS Kerr. You need 10 posts to be able to PM people so stick some posts in! Maybe stick sonething in about the cue you use or maybe would like to buy.

I'm guessing posting on a thread doesn't count? Still says I've only got one post...

You could also try looking up Scottish snooker on Facebook if you'd like to play in national amateur events. The people running that page will certainly sort you out.

Regional qualifying events are often held in Edinburgh. Usually at Locarno/Shandon. The guy that owns those clubs runs Scottish snooker so he would certainly get you sorted. And would be the right side of Edin for you coming from Broxburn way.

haha! I don't really wanna spam other folks threads as that could really annoy folk lol. I've had a look around to see what I can post on but I don't know enough to comment! lol

Just put nice things, good luck in India might be a start. Nice cue is always good, nice table, ooooh! that's a shiny ferrule. Thinks like that, no-one will mind.
