  • hi from CCD

    Hi guys,

I'm a snooker fan that plays every now and again. I live in London and regularly wager a few quid on matches.

I'm part of the MORE SNOOKER IN LONDON lobby.

I worry that the gambling industry is shaping the game because:
    1. more matches = more bets.
    2. Big names in qualifying rounds = more interest in these rounds and more bets.
    3. Short matches = less predictable matches.
I believe this reshaping is designed to attract sponsorship from betting firms but is ultimately bad for the game.

I believe a purpose-built cue sports arena should be built in London with acute-angle high-banked stalls so the public are on top of the action and have a great view.

looking forward to taking part in the forum.

    Welcome

So are you in favor of:

    1. Fewer matches?

2: Smaller Names with less intrest?

    3: Longer, more predictable matches?

I do like the arena idea

I didn't advocate a swing to the other extreme.

Thanks for backing the arena idea. How about a kickstarter We would have to invent our own new cuesport of course - unless Bazza comes in on it.

don't know i turned £5 into a £100 pounds betting on the lisbon open and some of the results were quite predictable. If Judd trump or someone on form is playing someone ranked 50+ I backed them 4-0 at 11-4. And two of my big winners was betting on peter ebdon frames to have less than a 100 points and john higgins to pot the first red.
