The reason I mentioned it is because this upcoming tournament on Jan 11 is meant for the less skilled players and if you have an 80 break then you would fit right in. (I squeeked through as a 'less skilled player')

I am in southern Ontario but about 25km north of Guelph or about 1-1/2hrs from 401/Yonge St. I have a BCE Westbury steel blocked with 1G balls and Hainsworth Precision cloth which is very fast but it's getting a little worn out now so I'm looking to get my table re-clothed once I speak to Pat McCarthy.

Oh I see, is there a points handicap system as well or does everyone play even in the tournament? And awesome I will definitely come by for some coaching in the new year

                    G'day all

Was referred to this forum (but not by a member-I think)
Anyway.. had a cue in my hand since I was 5, played on and off all my life.. Billiards first Snooker and 8 ball second.
2010 gave the game I love away as well as refereeing. I concerntrated more on other things and in October 2013 my wife and I shifted 1000 miles away to a downsized place. I found full size tables about 25 minutes drive away and got the bug again.. sought out a cue.. it was nice but not for me, then I found I had lost my long pots on a table, my Billiards game was shocking to say the least (ok 3 year break dosent help but it WAS shocking).

So now Im taking up 8 Ball and looking at 9 Ball too, the latter is fast and good.. I like 8 Ball though as my positional knowledge in Snooker and Billiards lets me run out but I just need to get more match practice in before i start playing comps etc..
So there you have it.. trying to get back into the game and seeing what is new out there after 3 years away so best way was to join this forum.

Hey Les, I think "G'day" is a hint.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
