Morning. Just a quick 'hello' post – I'm a forum newbie and actually a bit green with 'proper' snooker too. I grew up with a half-size table in our dining room and in the 20-odd years since most of the time I picked up a cue has been to play pool.
Some friends and I have been playing regularly at a local (west London) club and we've started to venture on to snooker tables too. We're yet to string more than three or four shots together but enjoying it.
I've also restored my old cue after years of neglect (I have a great relationship with Danish Oil now) and started on the slippery slope of buying more old (and so far, mercifully, cheap) sticks and perfecting the art of refinishing and retipping. Fun.
Anyway, hello and Happy New Year to all. I've already found the forum useful and hope to contribute something to it over time.
All the best, Paul
