    Hello all I'm a long time lurker coming out of the shadows, been playing for quite a while now mainly around the West London, Harrow area. I played for a couple of clubs down there but now live in Durham. Great forum you have here with lots of useful information and very helpful folk. I've recently taken a snooker lesson, first time ever and I've got timing issues, but it could have been a lot worse

        Welcome, does that mean you were late for the lesson?!

        Just kidding. Have you been playing a while and it was your first lesson - what was identified as a timing problem?

          Been playing since mid nineties but I stopped playing when I moved back up north 2004, then took it up again a while back but I,ve struggled since TBH but persevered. Recently decided I was so bad I needed help and guidance so booked a lesson (first ever) I'm basically hitting the ball far too hard (i should have realised really but it's crept in somehow) I'm not getting the action on the cue ball I should be getting, I'd lost the pause in the back stroke too but once it was pointed out and I started pausing again and hitting the ball softer I could see it, obvious now of course why didn't I see that....
