that was true, but now dott runs around the table like a maniac potting as fast as he can!
We never get to see that, though. Remember - he's never ever on televised tables
Ok, Dott is boring. Bond is boring. Bond vs Harold wasn't the most exciting match I've ever fallen asleep to. I still think Hamilton is the ultimately most boring player on the main tour at the moment. Well, of the lot that I have seen, that is - who knows what lurks in the shadows.
I could add Hamilton, Barry Pinches etc. I agree with Charlton and Davis in the latter stages of his career. Higgins was not boring in the semis. great comeback. In the final I found him boring though. Mediocre standard of play and negative shots occassionally apart from the last 4 frames. But if that can win you the title, who cares?!

Haha, the Ronnie fans found this post and have started to negatively rep me. Funny.
I got a negative rep for post 15 not so long ago.. Of course it wasn't signed. Looks like there are a few Andy Hicks fans on the board.. or Andy himself.

Surely elvaago must be the only snooker fan in the world who thinks Ronnie is a boring player. That must have just been a wind up.
Regarding Hicks, he hasnt always been a struggler, but you do have to go back an awful long time to when he was a brilliant dynamic player. Getting to 2 w/c semi finals when i was a schol kid he was the talk of the playground with his great play.
Although my memory is a bit hazy as i was very young at the time, i think i would have to go for Terry Griffiths at the end of his playing career as the most boring player. I seem to remember he became extremely negative, kept playing safe uneccesarily by turning down all pots except those that were almost certainly unmisable. On top of all this he was just too tense and extremely slow with about 200 feathering strokes to the cue ball before finally striking it, Not good to see.

I agree with elvaago. He is so boring it almost pains me. Why is watching break after break so entertaining when you know he isn't going to miss? Plus his on and off the table antics are just tiresome now.

Ah ok at least theres some reasons. I can undertsand how some people might find his antics tiresome. Even as a fan i sometimes do too.
And its true at peak form he doesnt miss much. But these days he doesnt hit or sustain those peaks too often. But i would guess 95 % of snooker fans must love watching the magic of Ronnie when he's flying. Thats what makes him far and away the biggest draw of the game.
