If the cue was a one piece they could split the shaft at the 3/4 mark before the cue is spliced, drill up the longer shaft length and place a weight, fix the two pieces back together and then splice on the butt to get the same result.

That's how most thai cues are made[/QUOTE]
Oh dear, sounds cut and shunt. Say that quickly.
Joints; what's the point, they add nothing to a cue at all and take away feel. But that's how JP likes them. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a plastic joint with a density closer to ash/ebony. Brass dulls everything. Not having a go at JP in particular, a lot of cue makers use something similar. I've never liked the feel of them. A wood on wood joint is a bit more special which is what an Ultimate should have.Last edited by Master Blaster; 28 March 2015, 09:29 PM.

Lets agree to disagree on the balance point. Who really cares where the f****ing balance point will be. Will it really matter to my game, probably not. it really doesn't matter if its 15", 20" or 25". I really don't care.
I have dropped the biggest veneered cue this forum has ever seen and I love it.
I guess I don't know much about cues but never the less the centuries will still fly in. I won't ever be good enough to be a pro so the small issue of not knowing where the balance point will be is totally irrelevant.
If I haven't said it already, Hello everyone and thanks for the big welcome to the forum.

I was trying to figure out why your post count stayed at 2 when you've posted lots ?
Maybe you need to post outwith the "newbies & introductions" folder ?

And that's the point for me, you're at a level where you can enjoy a JPU and get the most out of it, like the pros mate. If you don't like it, we can always swap.

Massive wind up this thread!
Master Blaster and 2v1977 are the same person, and there's no way anybody would order a cue like that lol
