I'm looking around forums and doing some googling to see why snooker has been going downhill over the years.

I believe that far from going downhill, snooker is on the up-and-up. Those of us involved in the junior game never cease to be amazed by the ever-increasing standard.

Hi Tim,

I used to play a good few years ago and I'm getting back into it now.
I popped into a club to watch a North London League match and was amazed when I was told there are only a very few teams in the league now with second and third teams from each club making up the numbers.
Also, looking around the clubs, they're fairly empty.
Years ago, getting games was never a problem, now it seems you have to make arrangements, in my area anyway.

Hope it all picks up though.

The Southampton and District Social Clubs Snooker League has 90 teams athough some are second and third teams.

The junior circuit around the city is thriving with most clubs running Saturday morning sessions. At Chandler's Ford we run junior comps all day Saturday and some Sundays.
