Hey guys and guyettes
My name is Alex Edwards (yes I did have a previous account on here but never used it and therefore lost the password)! I'm 15 years old (16 in Nov) and I live in Telford, Shropshire (which is in England for all those Americans, Welsh citizens should know it well, nextdoor to Shrewsbury)! Telford of course, is the home of the great Adrian Gunnell, ranked 40th best in the world!
I'm just getting started with proper snooker (full size table, balls & cue) and wish to join a league team and go for the inidividual competitions too in a few months when the new season starts. I've played a fair bit on a 3/4 size table but it's not the same. I'm going for my first game on a full size table (EVER), against someone from my year at school who keeps bragging in his MSN name that he's unbeaten against his friend (who just lets him win tbh), so i'll hope to put an end to that!
My grandad used to play a fair bit of snooker but sadly he passed away about 2 and a half years ago so it's a good opportunity for me to play when we go over there very regularly. I'm just in the process of getting a brand new custom cue (hopefully anyway), and a cade and all to start over because my grandad's old cues are warped and have been left standing for years. I'm currently using his best one which is a very good cue to be honest, but is not in the best of conditions near the tip because it is warping.
Thanks for taking the time to read this essay, and no it's not going to be the only one!
