                    What is bar billiards?
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

It's a game that was brought from Belgium in the 30s and was the main table sport found in pubs till pool came and pubs replaced them as you can have a pool game over in 5 mons with bb being a timed game of a min 15mins wich meant more money going in the table with pool there are still strong leagues down south with only 2 nee leagues in Yorkshire the game was extinct 3 years ago in Yorkshire me in Sheffield and a guy in York have slowly built a league from scratch and now we just need players to get behind the game and save it be for we lose it all together you play on a 6x3 table with 9 holes on the bed of the slate with 3 pegs on the table that you have to avoid I have a full set of rules on the website www.sheffieldbarbilliards.com I put all my spare time into trying to get venues and players and run all the comps my self including the twice a year Yorkshire derby Sheffield v York we just need all the support we can get thanks for posting guys and please keep talking about it

sure it is 17mins before the bar goes down is it not?
of course is feels like an eternity when someone else is playing the table out, and only 5mins when it is your go!

but, yes totally agree, Pool tables can take more money for a club/pub; but have always said that BB is brilliant for those corners that have no real use, as you only need two side access

Been told recently that a BB table has appeared in one of the local social clubs after many years of being absent, and I noticed one in a pub that has not had one for donkey's when I went there for a pool league night. Two of my young team mates said "what is that?" I quickly explained and they went to have a go when they were not playing the pool match, they enjoyed it

Still quite strong in the Channel Islands. Quite a few World Champions between Guernsey and Jersey.

Yea most people find they play all the time so addictive the proper time is 17 mind but due to the years of manufacturing the timers can be anything from 15.5 to 19.5 mins
